Heterogeneidad no observada en la satisfacción laboral del docente universitario

Resumen

Esta investigación pretende identificar la heterogeneidad no observada presente en el modelo que explica la satisfacción laboral (SATL) de docentes universitarios a partir del capital relacional (CREL) y la violencia en el trabajo (VIOT), en una muestra de 335 profesores de una universidad pública en Venezuela, uno de los países más violentos del mundo. Este abordaje se sustenta en que el supuesto de datos relativamente homogéneos puede ser poco realista en algunos contextos, porque los individuos se comportan de maneras diferentes, lo cual puede afectar bastante los resultados obtenidos con ecuaciones estructurales. La información fue recabada mediante cuestionarios ya validados en la literatura especializada, con formatos tipo Likert-7. Se empleó una investigación de tipo cuantitativo, con diseño transversal y alcance explicativo, y se aplicó una técnica relativamente novedosa denominada PLS-REBUS para identificar tres grupos heterogéneos. Se demostró la fiabilidad y validez de los constructos empleados, cuyas relaciones fueron estadísticamente significativas. Con base en el constructo más influyente en la SATL y la comparación multigrupo, el grupo 1 y grupo 2 representan a los académicos cuya SATL depende principalmente de la percepción del nivel de CREL, cuya etiqueta que distingue su orientación a la SATL es: “lo prioritario son las relaciones institucionales”, y el grupo 3 lo conforman los académicos cuya SATL obedece esencialmente a la percepción del nivel de VIOT en la universidad, cuya etiqueta es: “lo prioritario es la seguridad en el trabajo”.
